Mother’s Day is upon us – the second Sunday in May! Meaning it’s time to book a brunch reservation to wow mom, no cooking (or dishes!) required. Whether mom craves pasta, sushi, a casual park picnic or Korean BBQ, there’s a spot in New York City with her name about to be on it. Here’s where to book Mother’s Day brunch in NYC this year:

Babbo

If mom has a soft spot for Italian food, treat her to a special Mother’s Day meal at Babbo. Specials include Ricotta Gnudi with morel mushroom, asparagus and fava beans, and a Wagyu Steak with spring primavera salad and bone marrow vinaigrette. Portale

This year, Portale is offering a three-course prix-fixe menu ($95 per person) featuring a selection of appetizers, entrées, and desserts with a unique Italian twist. Start with appetizers like Insalata di Cavolo Nero with baby kale, currants, pistachio and pecorino, followed by a selection of mains including Chef Alfred Portale’s famous Cavatelli with ricotta, arrabbiata sauce and cilantro pesto. Dessert offerings include Semifreddo, a dark chocolate nutella cake with mocha cream, and candied hazelnuts, and their signature olive oil cake. Atlantic Grill

Recently revitalized by Michelin-starred chef Antonio Salvatore and Monte Carlo Hospitality Group, the iconic, elegant restaurant serves the freshest catches with a touch of Chef’s Mediterranean influence. A three-course Mother’s Day brunch menu for $75 includes a complimentary mimosa for each guest over 21. Guests may choose an appetizer, such as: Salpicon de Octopus (thinly sliced octopus, fresh peppers, mojo potatoes, spices), Sushi and Sashimi Deluxe (chef’s selection of 3 sashimi and 1 sushi roll) or Mediterranean Salad (fresh tomatoes, cucumber, onion, feta cheese, cilantro, vinaigrette); entrées such as: Omelette Atlantic Grill (crab, avocado, cream cheese), Ravioli Atlantic Grill (house made ravioli, Maine crab, brandy cream sauce), Salmon Béarnaise (grilled salmon, green beans, cherry tomatoes, dill, béarnaise sauce) or the Fish Burger (lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, tartar sauce, fries); and for dessert Carrot Cake or a Coconut Lemon Mousse. Socarrat Paella Bar

Take mom on a getaway to Spain without leaving the city by visiting Socarrat Paella Bar! From May 6th through May 8th the Spanish eatery is offering Mama’s Lobster Paella with chunks of whole lobster, calamari, scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams, scallion, tomato sofrito and saffron aioli priced at $48 per serving. Vestry

Bring mom to Chef Shaun Hergatt’s dynamic restaurant in West SoHo. Here she’ll enjoy a three-course prix fixe ($90 per person) featuring ingredients that are the epitome of spring. Starters include green asparagus with a poached egg and sauce girbrice, and green mustard soup with Carolina white prawns, and spring garlic. As a main course, golden tilefish is served with edamame and cilantro blooms, and if mom is a vegetarian there’s saffron risotto with basil pesto, pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes. Wave Hill

Get outdoors in The Bronx this Mother’s Day, on the one weekend a year people can picnic on Wave Hill’s expansive lawn overlooking the Hudson River, a centerpiece of the 28-acre garden complex. Pre-order a picnic from caterer Great Performances or bring your own. The $99 meal will include four dishes like cedar plank salmon with spring greens and goat cheese, plus the option to add on cocktails, wine or beer. You can also participate in free family friendly activities, including making gifts for Mom, community yoga, a nature walk and a garden tour.

La Goulue

The beloved French bistro on the Upper East Side helmed by the Executive Chef Antoine Camin will be serving prix-fixe complete with optional fresh baked croissants and pain au chocolat. Appetizer and entree options will include French toast with homemade brioche, mascarpone cream and blueberry jam; eggs Benedict with organic poached eggs, Canadian Bacon or smoked salmon and hollandaise; a Croque Monsieur with brie and black truffle, mache salad and French fries, and more. The prix fixe menu is priced at $72 and $36 for children under 12 years; with indoor and outdoor seating available.

Aldama

This Mother’s Day, Aldama welcomes Luis Valle of the beloved Mexico City destination, Don Vergas Mariscos, for a one-day-only pop-up with five iconic dishes from the Don Vergas Menu, available all day. A picturesque place to celebrate Mother’s Day, sit under the bright and colorful canopy of flowers to enjoy Southern Italian specialties on a three-course $65 Mother’s Day brunch menu. The buzzy coastal Italian restaurant from owner Robert Goldman, partner Kyle Hotchkiss Carone, and executive chef Ashley Rath is introducing weekend lunch just in time for Mother’s Day. The new menu inspired by Venice and the Italian coast, offers simple yet elevated housemade pastas and sandwiches, savory egg preparations, and daytime sweets. Yoon Haeundae Galbi

This beloved Korean BBQ restaurant presents a contemporary take on traditional recipes, inspired by owner Bobby Yoon’s grandfather’s restaurant Haeundae Somunnan Amso Galbijib, which opened in 1964 in Busan, South Korea. Menu highlights include the Marinated Short Ribs, which are prepared through the Haeundae Cut, a special technique that was invented by Bobby’s grandfather to tenderize even the toughest of meats; Galbi Dumplings with short rib, chive, and tofu and Uni Mentaiko Rice with uni, mentaiko, wasabi tobiko, seaweed, pickled chayote and microgreen, among other dishes.
