Midland Head for the Cure 5K
The fourth annual Midland Head for the Cure 5K Run & Walk is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at Midland College.
The race fee is $42. Kids Fun Run ($25) and Virtual Registrations ($32) are available. Register at www.headforthecure.org/midland.
Hops and Props
The Hops and Props fundraiser is coming back for the 14th year at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) High Sky hanger.
The event will be from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on April 9 at 9600 Wright Drive.
General admission tickets are $50 at the door and will include unlimited beer samples, appetizers and a commemorative glass. Designated driver (non-drinking) tickets are $20 and will include appetizers, soft drinks and water.
Redneck Roundup Car and Truck Show
Redneck Metal Buildings is hosting its second annual Redneck Round Up Car and Truck Show on Saturday. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 2931 I-20 North Service Road, Stanton.
Officials expect 400 cars are expected to register and participate.
RockHounds home opener
The Midland RockHounds will have its home opener at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Momentum Bank Ballpark. The first home series will be Tuesday through Saturday.
The RockHounds are the Double-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s.
Midland County Republican Women
The Midland County Republican Women will meet at 11:30 Wednesday at Midland County Club.
Chuck DeVore, the vice president of national initiatives and the policy director for the Election Protection Project at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, is the featured speaker. Also speaking will be Wayne Christian and Sarah Stogner, candidates for the Railroad Commission, and Dawn Buckingham and Tim Westley, candidates for Texas land commissioner.
Tickets for non-members without reservations are $40.
City’s Easter Eggstravaganza
The seventh-annual Easter Egg Eggstravaganza will take place on April 14 at the MLK Jr. Community Center.
Kids 12-years-old and younger are invited to participate in the egg hunt.
The event will start at 4 p.m. with The Negro Professional Business Women’s Club giving away hot dogs. Five-dollar pictures with the Easter Bunny are slated to be from 5 to 7 p.m. The proceeds will benefit the proceeds benefit the Midland Municipal Employee Scholarship Fund, according to the city spokesperson. And finally, the egg hunt will start at 6 p.m. with the youngest group.
Bicycles have been donated and will be given away within each age group.
